GMG Color Americas, a color management and proofing technology developer, has announced that Birgit Plautz, technical director, has been appointed president of the Advisory Committee of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA). TAGA, an organization that connects the international community of design and graphics arts professionals and academics, is dedicated to scientific research and technological innovation in the diverse field of graphic communications. Hosting the renowned TAGA Annual Technical Conference, TAGA serves as a premier platform for communication, publication, and outreach in the graphic communications industry. Having previously served as executive vice president, as the new president of TAGA’s Advisory Committee, Plautz will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization and advancing its mission over the coming years. Plautz’s extensive experience as technical director at GMG, industry insights and dedication to technological advancement make her the ideal candidate to lead TAGA into the future. Plautz’s appointment will support the organization’s purpose as a worldwide forum for sharing and disseminating theoretical, functional, and practical information on technologies for graphic arts print production and related processes. “At a time of enormous innovation and ingenuity, it is truly an honor to lead TAGA as Advisory Committee president and contribute to its mission of fostering knowledge exchange within the graphic arts community,” says Plautz. “My tenure as president will be strengthened, as it was during my time as EVP, by the expertise and experience developed through my role at GMG Color. I look forward to working closely with the brightest and best minds in the graphics arts field, and with academics to drive forward the advancements that will shape the future of our industry.” At GMG Color, Plautz demonstrates leadership and technical prowess, making her an invaluable asset to both the company, its printing and converting customers and the broader industry, the company says. Her new appointment as president of the Advisory Committee of TAGA, a role she will fulfil alongside her role at GMG Color, underscores the importance of driving innovation and excellence in the field of graphic communications.
